More than 90 EMS completions in past 10 years at the
huge TAS rotorcraft services depot in Fort Worth
FORT WORTH, Texas, September 14, 2007 /PRNewswire/ -- Texas Aviation Services, an industry leader in helicopter and aircraft completion, MRO and maintenance services for over 36 years, announces increased service offerings to airborne EMS helicopter operators and hospital customers. On the eve of the industry’s annual “AMTC” trade show (Air Medical Transport Conference, sponsored by AAMS), Texas Aviation Services ("TAS") has teamed with LifePort, Inc. for new medical interiors configurations, is expanding its technical workforce, and investing for broader technical capacities at its already large Fort Worth facilities in order to take on more air ambulance rotorcraft projects. Plans are also underway to increase Engineering capacities at TAS.
Tim Woodard, President of Texas Aviation Services, said: "We’re proud to provide world class helicopter completions for EMS customers who are out there saving lives every day. TAS has long been a service provider and completion center for air ambulance helicopter operators. In the past 10 years, we have now performed 96 new completions for EMS fleet operators. Our alliance with LifePort, other supplier partnerships, and our improved access to capital allow us to focus even more on these unique customers’ special needs. From highly specialized and complex avionics suites, full medical interiors suites, neonatal emergency care installations, night vision systems, microwave uplink/downlink systems, and life support systems, TAS is the technical partner of choice for hospitals and air ambulance operators. Complex completions now comprise roughly half of our annual business, so our investments there mean that we can take on even more of these very challenging helicopter projects.” Our most recent air ambulance helicopter delivered to Omniflight. TAS will have representatives at the show in booth 429.
Steve Townes, Chairman of Texas Aviation Services and its parent company, Ranger Rotorcraft and Aeronautics Inc., said: "TAS has over twenty years of experience in creating flying emergency rooms for air medical customers. Our strategic teaming with LifePort, combined with Ranger’s proven access to growth capital, means we can focus even more on the unique needs of our air medical customers.”
Texas Aviation Services, with 140,000 square feet of facilities at Meacham Field in Fort Worth, TX, is an independent helicopter technical services company with 36 years of successful history. TAS specializes in both civilian and military helicopter completions, retrofits, MRO, avionics systems integration, interiors, paint, component overhaul, and engineering. Originally founded in 1971, TAS performs complex customizing projects on civilian Bell, Eurocopter, and other helicopter types; and extensive retrofits on military Blackhawk and other government or law enforcement operated special-mission helicopters.
